Equipment & Real Estate Financing Programs

Making a major purchase, such as a police car, or even a new City Hall? Don’t waste your time tackling all of the paperwork, paying excessive legal fees, or paying unnecessarily high interest rates. Since 1990, GMA has assisted Georgia cities with major equipment and real estate purchases. We’ve secured over $1 billion in financing for cities, amounting to over 4,000 individual deals.

Don’t recreate the wheel. Finance with GMA. Our two programs handle both short-term equipment purchases and long-term real estate purchases.

Direct Lease Financing Program (for short-term equipment purchases)

Police cars. Fire trucks. Computer systems. Sewer jet systems. 911 communication systems. Public works equipment. Common yet expensive purchases that your city may need to make at any time. When you make these purchases, you want to make sure you’re getting the best deal while securing the lowest possible interest on your payments.

  • Low-interest installment leases to help you purchase essential equipment.
  • Flexible payment terms (ranging from 2 to 10 years).
  • You own your equipment at the end of the term.
No up-front fees. No required down payments. No prepayment penalties.

Am I Eligible?
We consider all leases on a case-by-case basis.

If you decide to participate in the Direct Lease program, you will adopt a Master Lease (one-time) and submit your two most recent financial audits (or Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports) to us for a credit review.

When you adopt the Master Lease, certain City officers are then authorized to execute supplemental leases for essential equipment—making future purchases much easier.

Bricks and Mortar Financing Program (for long-term real estate purchases)

For major real estate projects such as a new city hall, police station, or fire station, give us a call. We provide long-term financing for mission-critical government real estate projects by providing you standard documentation and leveraging our economies of scale to keep your financing costs as low as possible.

Even if you’re just thinking about building a new facility, contact us. Because of special legal requirements, contacting us early in the process allows you to obtain a better understanding of your legal and financial financing requirements along with saving you from making costly mistakes that will hurt you down the road.

Benefits to our program include:
  • Flexible financing terms, ranging from 5 to 30 years.
  • Facilitating the funding SPLOST-approved projects.
  • Compliance with Section 36-60-13 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated.
No up-front fees. No required down payments. No prepayment penalties.

We consider all leases on a case-by-case basis.

GMA’s Bricks and Mortar Financing Program Makes Purchase of Loganville City Hall Easy
June 19, 2017
When a building previously used as an elementary school went up for sale, the city of Loganville saw an opportunity. As the city’s population rapidly grew over the last few years, its current city hall was struggling to keep pace. To move quickly, the city needed expertise about financing and its application to local governments. City officials called GMA, and the financing was handled through GMA’s Bricks and Mortar Financing Program.
