The struggling shopping center that lies barely inside the Perimeter in North DeKalb will be annexed into the city June 1. The Tucker City Council unanimously approved the annexation at a meeting Monday night.

As Northlake Mall sits primed for a large-scale redevelopment, the Texas-based company that owns most of the property has asked for it to be annexed into the city of Tucker.

The cities that are involved are Brookhaven, Chamblee, Doraville, Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, Smyrna and Tucker. The Cumberland and Perimeter Community Improvement Districts have also been partners.
