Stonecrest Mayor Jason Lary said he made an agreement with the land owner for the city to purchase the 8.8 acres of land on the corner of Evans Mill and Salem roads for $325,000. He hopes to use it for park space instead.

A contractor has completed a digital analysis of the city’s roads that will determine their condition and outline a plan for how to best repair them. The project cost $71,000 in SPLOST funding and is aimed at analyzing potholes as well as other aspects of the streets, the city said in a statement.

The 2019 budget outlines a plan to hire one part-time and seven full-time employees, including a procurement officer, a code enforcement officer, a right of way field services manager, three parks and recreation employees, and an administrative assistant.
