Shared Active Transportation Resources

Many GMA member cities have experienced the sudden appearance of bikes, e-scooters, and other small vehicles equipped with GPS devices (collectively known as shared active transportation vehicles) that users activate with cell phone apps. Users rent, return, and ride these SATVs on public rights of way. SATVs are often introduced without informing or consulting affected municipalities. In response, Georgia cities are now looking to manage shared active transportation and its implications for local authority, public safety, data-sharing, and equity. On this Resource page, you will find case studies, publications, and news articles about this important new form of transportation and how cities are responding.
